The free estimate

Every job starts the same way: we look at the work, we measure it, and we put a fixed price on it in writing. No obligation, and no deposit until you accept the quote.

Akiel, founder of BITR, cutting in trim on a Toronto job site

The 60-second ballpark

Our online calculator gives you an instant ballpark in about 60 seconds. Enter your postal code and the rooms or surfaces you want painted, and you get a range based on our actual pricing.

The ballpark is a starting point. For a firm number, we come see the work.

What happens at the walkthrough

We walk the job with you, room by room or surface by surface. We measure the walls, ceilings, and trim runs, count the doors and windows, and note anything that changes how long the work takes: failing paint, water or smoke damage, plaster that needs repair, heritage trim that has to be cut by hand.

If quantities came from drawings or photos, we confirm them on site before work starts. Anything that could affect the price gets raised at the walkthrough, not on the invoice.

The walkthrough is free and there is no obligation. No deposit is required until you accept the quote.

An itemized quote with three scope sections

Your quote arrives within one business day of the walkthrough. It is fully itemized — materials, prep, painting, and site protection, each explained in plain English.

Every quote carries the same three scope sections:

  • The work we're doing — the full scope, surface by surface.
  • The work we're NOT doing — exclusions spelled out up front, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
  • When we start and how long it takes — a target start window and a duration.

A fixed price, and the same number on the invoice

The quote is a fixed price for the scope, surfaces, and assumptions listed in it, and it is valid for 30 days. If something needs to change mid-job — an added room, a different finish, a site condition worse than the stated assumptions — we price the change in writing and you approve it before that part of the work begins.

The number written on the quote is the number on the invoice. No change orders you didn't sign off on, no second-week creep.

Common questions

How fast do I get a painting quote in Toronto?
You can get an instant ballpark in about 60 seconds with our online calculator. After the free walkthrough, the detailed fixed-price quote arrives within one business day.
Does the estimate cost anything?
No. The walkthrough and the quote are both free, with no obligation. No deposit is required until you accept the quote and want to lock in a start date.
What is actually in the quote?
Four itemized line items — materials, prep, painting, and site protection — plus three scope sections: the work we're doing, the work we're not doing, and when we start and how long it takes. The quote is valid for 30 days.
Can the price change after I accept?
Not without your written approval. The quote is a fixed price for the scope and assumptions listed in it. If a site condition turns out worse than the stated assumptions, we price the change in writing and you approve it before that part of the work begins.
